Our taxidermist does a nice job but takes a loooooonnnnnngggg time to get the mounts back to us. Ususally by the time he gets it back to us he charges less than the already cheap price, so I guess it works out o.k. If we bring him a cape, he gives us the euro mount on a plaque pretty much for free  :). I can't wait to get it back...
sounds like a good deal to me!  i've never really had the time, patience, or intention of caping out my animals and having to worry about carrying the capes out in addition to all the meat and skull/antlers, but now i think next year i may consider it, if only for a couple hundred extra bucks

Hey HG and MtLion,

I'm not sure who you use for your taxidermy, but I take all my stuff to Andres Taxidermy off Airport Road just off Springhill.   I used to live in his same subdivision when I was in Bozeman.

I haven't found anyone who does better work.

Just an FYI, he's done all my stuff for the last ten or so years and I can't be happier.

I think he's done at least ten to twelve shoulder mounts for me and they all look great.

Just thought I'd give you a heads-up in case you didn't know about him.

His name is Jerry and he's a great guy.

That's funny because we take all of our stuff to him! He is doing mtlion's full body mount Lion. He is slow but does great work. We have been going to him for many years now and have referred lots of people to him, so he always gives a great deal. Around $50 for a euro mount on a finished plaque. Can't beat that.

Good deal, just thought I'd mention it if you didn't know about him.

He's done a bear, lots of deer, an elk, walleye, pike, goat, pheasant and several ducks for me and I just haven't seen better quality everywhere.

Sounds like I was telling you something you already knew, but thought it was worth the effort if you didnt' know.

Hope you guys finish the season strong, I'm out for a big whitey for myself now.

Good luck!

Check out this thanksgiving doe. I was hunting with mtlion and took this doe with one shot with the .270. She was my eigth deer and first doe ever. She was the biggest doe taken on the property (out of 10) all season! Mtlion shot a doe later that evening... I guess this wraps up my hunting season. Good Hunting!

Here are some scenery pics we took while hunting.

You and your husband remind me of the perfect hunting lodge owners. When you gonna open up your own hunting lodge and ranch.  You certainly have the experience and know how.  ;D
Tresspassing on my land is bad, Tresspassing on my land with an ATV will get you shot!

Yeah, and you haven't seen us in the kitchen! Seriously though, I'm in grad school for microbiology and he's starting grad school for fisheries managment so I don't think we'll be able to open that lodge anytime soon...  :'(
