Awesome pics guys, we use to get deer like that @ our hunting camp up in the NMW, but haven't seen too many deer since they started cutting hardwood & of course the winter kill in the 6 yrs.

Those deer were killed in hardwood cuts, I shot one of them at 20yds while he was following a doe and eating rasberry bushes. Had to wait for him to turn his head so I could pull up and shoot. If it wasn't for the cuts here, they would have had a rough time finding food, because it was a bad nut year. Northern Maine doesn't have any oaks, and the beeches are spotty and don't produce every year either, so that's what we look for is a cut that 2-3 years old, deer will be bunched up in/aroud it.

Last Nov. we found where the deer were, 1 guy in our group got a glimpse of a nice deer but was not able to get a shot @ him, the area was ribboned off, looks as if they were getting ready to cut that area off.
