I'll be ready, I hope. Always look foreward to gun season but now I take more enjoyment out of  hunting with my boy's than actually shooting one. I know there are a few deer around the house. I might not have as much time to hunt as I would like now that I have to cut my firewood all over again >:(

I used to be the same way, but now that my buddy got me into bow hunting September 11 was my opening day....But still I have to admit...there is nothing like that First Morning of Rifle season heading out with the whole family.  Can't Wait!! Good Luck!!

I'm not from there so this is just a question. You can hunt deer with a .410?
I'm not saying right or wrong, I happen to believe a .410 slug is a decent close range deer gun. Here in NY the smallest allowed is a 20 gauge.

i called fish and game last week because some others told me you couldnt hunt with the 410  and its legal in maine and new hampshire
i would have loved to have gone with the 20 ga but the grand son is small and i though the 20 would have too much kick for him plus with his short arms he would have trouble sholdering the 20 i might end up having to buy him a youth short gun i have also been told the 223 is a nice kids gun something iam going to check into as well

i hunted with a 410 in my youth years and killed deer with it  cant remember just how it goes but if i remember right the 410 at 50 yards is as good as a 44 mag and ive killed my share of deer with the 44  the grandson loves wildlife  so iam not sure if he has the chance to take one that he will pull the triger he says he will  time will tell
