Question
« on: Oct 19, 2010, 11:10:52 AM »
Checked my huge line this AM, all 6 sets. 1 sprung by a wandering cow, 1 with a skunk. How do you get a skunk out of a 1 3/4 without getting sprayed or bitten? How do you handle a skunk if you want to skin it and still be decent enough to mingle with other humans (don't smell skunky?)

well let's put it this way i have skinned over 200 skunks in the last 5 years and the only way to avoid getting sprayed or having them spray is to use a long pole with a hyperdermic needle filled with alcohol or hydro chloric acid kills them quickly and they dont spray if you get one that does spray place it in a 5 gallon pail with a lid on it mix 1 part peroxide and 1 part baking soda with a small amount of dawn dish soap scrub em down let it air out and will have little to no smell afterwards ;)

Yup I use the same concoction, works pretty good.   Plain ole' time will help a lot also hang it out in the garage or shed to dry for awhile
