Holy cow DD, glad you are okay. That sounds very scary.

I use my loggy bayou a lot. My top piece does not have a cable though, it is a piece of square stock. My stand is an older one, maybe they went to cable on the newer ones. My bottom piece has a flat strap that goes around the tree.

I bet you will love the summit.

Glad to here you got down ok. I use a HSS rope style tree strap when hunting out of my climber. It slides up and down the tree a lot easier then the regular straps and doesn't slow down my climb any. Makes it easier for me to not chance it.

Glad to hear you are OK.

I had one slid down the tree a few years ago and I didn't think it was going to stop even thou I only fell a few feet, but it finally caught before my belt harness had me hanging. The tree was smooth bark and it rained just enough to make it slippery.  I haven't used it since as I have plenty of ladder stands and a Tripod.
