I can not confirm any of this because my parents have passed but our original last name was Sparacino shortened to Spara now and we were from Caltagirone Sicily.....

Thats only an hour and a half from my father's hometown of Ligualglossa.

oops, spelled it wrong. LINGUALGLOSSA.  I don't know if the literal translation would be correct but I think it may mean something like "smooth talker".  But both "Lingua" and "glossa" in latin refer to language or words.......

I can see an x-rated version too depending on what else "gloossa" could mean.... ;D
