I have a Bushnell Sport that's a couple years old. I think It's all you really need. People seem big on the new "true distance" technology, but I don't think it makes any difference. Unless you're shooting straight up or down, usually not a good shot any way. Same for short range with a bow as long range with a rifle. In a treestand I pick out a tree and range it 15-20' up to make a horizontal line. It really doesn't matter though if you do the math. A^2+B^2=C^2 so 40yds^2+5yds^2 =40.31yds^2. Yes that's a 15' stand, a 20' stand would see 40.5yds.

I have had the Archers Choice now for two seasons. Works great and still on the orignal set of batteries. It will actually range out to about 140yards but no further. I also like the case that comes with it.
