new toy finally ready to go
« on: Sep 24, 2012, 12:19:07 PM »
a few weeks ago in the "which muzzle loader should i buy" debate i mentioned that i finally found a buyer for my tc custom shop katahdin carbine. when i sent that baby down the road i instantly ordered my new cva accuraMR. its an apex w/ out interchangable barrels so its a little less expensive to buy and it also has an aluminum breech instead of steel which is required by the apex because of the fact it shoots high pressure center fire cartridges as well as black powder. this makes the accura
MR much lighter plus it has a little shorter barrel.  had an early day today so i seasoned the barrel, aligned the rings w/ my wheeler scope mounting set,  installed a leupy vx2 1-4 i had layin around, torqued all my bases and ring screws to spec and bore sighted it. hopefully this weekend i can get an hour or so to get it on the X. 110gr by volume of BH209 a 300gr thor and cci209m should put this bad girl in the money!! cant wait

Nope no NH hunting for me. I live about 10 minutes from your camp so I dont really have to travel far for good hunting. :)

true story. im about 10 minutes from freedom nh so i DO hunt both states. damn expensive though for my nh lisences but i supose if you love something enough the cost is secondary. cant wait to get the bird dogs up to camp!

Damn fine piece of machinery you have there. Good luck with it.
