I grew up in NJ. I was in Colorado for several years. Then I was in upstate NY for several years. I was mostly into bow hunting. I had a Matthews Q2 with 70 lb limbs set at 68 lbs.
In my basement I had my bow press, fletching area, etc.. I did 99 % of my own work. Not for a living but for my enjoyment. I had an accident and have been out of hunting for about a decade. I had sold all my gear years ago.
Since then I've been into firearms .. mostly pistols. Again doing all my own work. I also reload for my 9MM and 45 ACP. But I've had the itch to get back into hunting for a while now.
So a few weeks ago I picked up a 20 Gauge Mossberg 500 Field and Deer combo with the rifled barrel. I've been working on that off and on since I got it. I also set up a reloading area for reloading 20 gauge.
That's pretty much it !

A 20 gauge is a good choice for a shotgun to deer hunt with. Before we were allowed rifles in the south my 20 with a rifled barrel and Sabot bullets would put them back in the box at 100 yards
