Owl if it's not real light yet, crow after daylight.

Slamming the truck door  ;D, then owl for a while.  After they're on the ground a boat paddle (box call), there are so many crows where I usually hunt they don't respond to it well.

Ive had them gobble a few times after slamming the truck door as well! I guess whatever floats their boat. Ive seen coyote calls too...which I would be hesitant to use since my area is loaded with them, and turkeys are already call shy b/c of that...even though I know its an impulse gobble, I dont think Id want to use it.

I'm kind of partial to a gobble shaker.  Seems to work pretty good here in Idaho where they get crow-called and owl-hooted to death.

Funny story from last Spring, had a friend on his property that has some nice birds, he has a good amount of land but it's somewhat broken up and has a couple narrow spots. Anyway there are usually some hunters on neighboring properties, the first morning there I kept hearing a peacock and figured someone was using a call. Later on when we were talking about the hunt, he had a strange look on his face when I mentioned hearing a peacock call. Being a newbie he didn't know much about making them shock gobble then he said that the neighboring farm has a peacock. ;D

I also remember some people with too much money had a pet peacock at their summer house a mile or so up the road from me. I used to hear it all the time, they're loud.

A gobbler shaker around here is going to call in too many other hunters. ;D The owl hooters and crow calls work, I'm thinking of trying a pileated woodpecker call this year for something different; see and hear lots of them.
Its always archery season. >>>---------->
