just heard it!!

i went out to have a cigarette and the ol' lady was out letting the dog out.i get out there and she says i just heard gobbles.i said hunny those are geese, she goes no idiot i know they are geese but i heard gobbles.i wait about 2 minutes and heard my first gobbles of the year!you could tell it was a big group of em cause one would sound off then the rest.Now i am even more pumped knowing they are right across the street waiting to cross the road and be hunted out behind the house.

On our way up north this morning we passed a cop that was stopped in the middle of a roundabout ?? As we were passing him I saw the flock of turkeys 20' from the road with a long beard strutting.

I listened to a bunch of gobbling while waiting for a friend to show up at an ice-fishing access; it was mid January. They can gobble at any time; have heard lots of gobbling in the fall when the toms flock up and start to sort out dominance.
