You can get a choke gauge pretty cheap at just about any gun shop or hunting supply store, and most have a wrench built in. This one has a wrench on the top right side, looks stepped to fit different sized bores. I wouldn't buy one online just an example. http://store.colemans.com/cart/choke-gauge-p-542.html. If you have a set of calipers, you could measure the I.D. of the choke and find out that way.

Looking into that if its bought as a turkey gun the choke should come out right?? or not always?

If they sold it as a "turkey gun" it should have a tight(usually something like extra full) choke on it, mine did.

Unless your brother changed it, then the choke should be good.

I have a Mossburg with the stock extra full turkey choke. I shoot Winchester #5 in a 3 1/2" mag. Patterned great at 45 yards and has killed 5 birds in the last 3 years. Now that I have one under my belt this year, I am going to try taking one with my bow.

Use the same load in my Mossberg 835, same choke, same results w/ the pattern.

as it turns out hulbert told me his brother said it is a skeet choke in the gun.no wonder he has to finish em off with a knife.this guy can kill birds now just wait till he has the appropriate choke.

P.s. it would be just his luck to have the wrong choke in.WOW and this guy is talkin trash sayin he is gonna kill a bigger bird than me??????.......again PA LEASE!!!!!lol now the birds are in trouble.right bud?
