Gobble,Gobble
« on: Apr 07, 2005, 02:58:04 PM »
Here in central Pa. the tom's have started to make noise. I got reports of them gobbling up until 10 am yesterday. Our season comes in the 30th and I'm ready. I was invited to WV. for their opening day on the 25th so I might get an early start. I've hunted there the last two seasons and killed two long beard's so it's a good place to hunt, just have to make up my mind.

Yep- The toms are strutting their stuff here in WNY too.
I've been scouting a lot, and it's looking like a good Spring.
Tomorrow is the lottery drawing for a State Park close to where I live.

Took my son on a scouting trip tonight and we saw 2 nice jakes! I know the gobblers are there. Got my bird there last year. Good luck Hunter13, hope he is there opening day. I am headed back to Vermont this weekend for my final scouting trip before the opener.

I'm thinking it will be. I have never seen so much sign.
The trick is to get away from the roads, because there are a lot of visitors there.
And, of course, to be invisible.

It wouldn't surprise me if they came out with one in the next decade.  ;D
I think I would still do it the old fashioned way.

We are going to be camping in the park for a few weekends in May.
That way I just have to crawl out the sleeping bag and stumble down the hill about a half mile. I know- don't forget the gun!  :o
