Hick's Pic's (Trapping Season )
« on: Jul 05, 2012, 09:33:28 PM »
Hello all. just thought i would post up some pics of our hunting plots the wife and i put in last fall. The first set is from the wife's spot where we started cleaning up the mess the previous owner had made. the first year we just mowed everything down and that worked OK but then we decided to clear a lot to build our rental property. the best way we found was to rent a forester to chew up the prickly ash. what an amazing piece of equipment. once the new lot was cleaned up we put it to use on our hunting spots. so here they are.

The forester in action.

and the same spot this year.

The next spot we cleared was the area we just wanted to clean up. the deer use this area to access the majority of our property from the neighboring farm.

the first pass

after a few hours  we ended up with this.

Nice work. That camper would make a heck of a blind to spend a full weekend in. I could get some use out one of those foresters too, that's an awesome machine.

Terrific job - Those forester attachments for skid steers are awesome rigs.

You sure do put in the work, I 'm sure you'll get some good results from it. It looks to be part of an old farm, you shouldn't have any trouble getting some food plot to grow there. ;D

yeah we bought a few OLD campers and gutted them out and kept the couches in them. we also changed out the windows to sliding storm windows. they work great. and keep ya out of the rain and snow once the bows are put up and the thunder sticks come out.

well the decoys were not what i wanted, but the blind is home and gonna be put away until fall. here it is next to my other blind with the killer weed winter wheat kit on it, and the thermal seat installed.

i may put the same kit on this one to use as an extra in case a buddy wants to go. not sure yet. going to have to make a new door hinge for it but that will be later also.
