Title: Where is Sharps when I need him?

What are they?

Here I am!

Do NOT eat those Raquettedacker! Those are poisonous and cause severe stomach upset that lasts for days. They are called Jack o lanterns. (Omphalotus olearius). The gills actually glow in the dark. nice to look at, and only look at.

Never seen them before..   Just the color of them was skeery...   ;D
Pretty cool.. Thanks..  I didnt see anything on the edibles list that looked like them...

No problem. Some people mistake them for chanterelles. Keep looking for those edibles!

Thats what I thought when I saw them from the 4 wheeler than I got down to look at them and just took a picture... ;D

glad sharps got back to you! i second the jack o lantern! had a few people get really sick on those up here. didn't know about the bioluminescence tho.

That first photo definitely looks like inky caps, more specific the shaggy mane. These are edible but I have never found nor ate them before so I cant say much for them or recommend them. The second photo, may also be a type of inky cap but I cannot tell for sure.

Raquettt==first pic are shaggy Manes,they are GREAT to eat but the ones in the photo are gone already,but the tops are OK,eat them beforw they turn on the bottom and eat them soon as you pick them,,don't eat inkys,they react with alcohol and some people have reactions also,,but shaggys are great,you'll see more after a good frost.
