rack size not important this time
« on: Nov 22, 2011, 10:05:08 PM »
Got a little rag horn Saturday morning. I called my son to see when he was coming as he was coming home to hunt with dad. He called me back shortly and said his wife was willing to come also. I had a GRAND idea, lets have her come and bring kids and then I called my daughter also and said......ya know the elk is only 1/2 mile from road and it will be pretty easy drag so lets take grandsons with us and we can pull them in on the sled to the elk and then back out , had a smaller sled to pull them back out. Everyone agreed so off we went, son/wife/grandson & daughter/husband/grandson & myself [grandma had some time with the littler ones, 3 of them]

Drag team headed in to elk

Now this is priceless for Grandpa

Grandson said did you break his horns Grandpa  :)

Fun was over when they got cold. One grandson said he got cold from touching to many trees and the other said the gut pile is disgusting.

Carry me mom I am freezing

The pull

At the truck

Finally .........hot chocolate time

Way to take advantage of the opportunity.........it's not often that it would be possible to do what you did.  Congratulations on the kill and having a family gathering to go get it.  Kinda like the whole family going out to cut down a Christmas Tree.......only better......lol
