Ally is on the board in 2011

Took my 13 year old daughter antelope hunting this weekend. We got a late start due to her volleyball tourney (they won the championship!). She played 7 full matches so she was a little tired on Saturday afternoon so we took a short walk and looked over a few 'lopers and got some much needed rest.

Hit it hard on Sunday. She's pretty picky and passed up several small bucks until we found this one. She looked him over in the spotter and liked what she saw.

While not a huge buck, he measured a little over 13.5" with nice cutters and had some real good mass. Enjoyed spending some quality time with my daughter, it was a lot of fun and she did her usual good shooting.

She ended up shooting him twice but #2 was not needed.   Her guide was a little unsure of the shot placement on #1 so she put another one in him.   She was not happy when we reviewed the shot placement as Dad ruined her consecutive one-shot kill streak at 6.   Guess she needs to hire a better guide.... ;D

Good Job Ally........Keep it up.......Good guides are really hard to come by......so stick with the one you have and train him better...... ;)

Nice job young lady! What caliber is she shooting and what do you suggest for a young girl...... thinking ahead for my daughters in a few years and it gives me an excuse to buy another rifle ;D.

Looks like a Ruger and I was thinking about a M77 in .25-06 but they are heavy being a long action and long barrell and I didn' know how the kick would be.

Congrats again to your daughter!

She was shooting a Ruger M77 .280 Remington shoot Hornady Superformance 139 gr SST's.   She's shot two antelope, two deer and three elk with this set up.

I would think the 25-06 would be great as well.   The recoil on the .280 doesn't bother her at all.   She's been shooting it for a couple years now.

I would not say 100% but for an old guy not bad, I an get along with it. Much better than it was for sure!

LOL...I would hate to tell her how many times I shot on one of the whitetails I shot at 16..... ::) ::) ::) Just say it was more than twice... ;)
