Congrats MatCat and Zimmer, NICE!!!  As for us......just have doe tags and every animal I see on the land we're hunting is a buck......LOL....what's the chances.  They definitely got ran off the BMA over the first weekend, we've sat and watched a couple of herds on the "wrong" side of the fence....:).   This is the first time hunting this piece of land and it's kinda like fishing at Holter Lake, instead of water skiers and jet ski's you have bird hunters and road hunters.....LOL......  Anyway, got a long season and some other areas to get to.....couple of does can't be that hard eh??

WOW I never seen so much mud, I think you flat-landers are used to it but not me :) Rained 3" before season started and getting around was a challenge to say the least. With the low number of goats and the mud I did have to work a little but did find one.

Nice buck, Zimmer!

Looks pretty long, must be 14"+ or so, right?

Well I was able to make it out for an afternoon hunt today but no luck on shooting any goats. Saw a lot of bucks and a few does on a neighboring ranch but none on the one I was hunting. I was able to take one more coyote out of the population at the end of the evening though.

Congrats MatCat- as you can see my wife's goat was busted up too. He also had a swollen nose, must have been a fighter. On the plus side, I got them boiled out on Sunday and they were bigger than I thought. Mine was 14 6/8" and green scores over 75, and Chrissy's was 13 1/2". Not monsters but good solid goats nonetheless.

Looks like I shot your goats twin as mine went 14 6/8 and green scored exactly 75 ;D  Congrats once again to all who've been successful.  Seems to be some decent horn growth this year!  Keep those pics coming...  -OH

Sweet- and I also noticed good horn growth this year- all that rain was so nice, hope the deer put some good bone on too!
