How is the open public land hunting down there? Was thinking about possbily making a road trip. Is there considerable hunting pressure in the open land parks?

Just saw this post. Public land gets a fair amount of pressure. If you bow hunt you wont see as many hunters. Gun hunting in some public place can be like hunting in a pumpkin patch. Orange everywhere you look. However, I have seen some nice deet taken on public land down here. Just have to be willing to put your time in.
