Well finally after forever, my dad got drawn for a moose tag (zone 8). Due to starting a new job and not having any time off I only had Monday (Columbus day) to hunt with him and we made I count :). This guy dressed out to 1008 lbs and has a 60 1/2" spread. We have not had him scored yet, but my dad did a rough measurement and came out to like 178 so it should be in the 175 to 180 range what do you think? Thanks for looking!

Absolutely beautiful bull, guys! Have never measured a moose before.. just spread, so I have no guess. Do have comments, however. Did you cheat with the recovery? just guessing by the stabilizers in the background and lack of mud and sweat! ;D But more important what is that nice looking rifle you shoot.. just a little jealous!
Great work guys; what a trophy

WOWZA! solid kill! I could only guess how he ended up in the bed of the pickup! Looks like a great tool for any moose hunt!

Thanks for the compliments and yes we did cheat haha. My dad is a logger and has been working in the area where we got the bull. They had been seeing it as well as other smaller ones around the piece they were cutting. The rifle is a Winchester Model 670, 30-06 ( a cheaper model 70). My dad made a custom curly maple stock and added a floor plate so as to not have to manually eject anymore. I mean its not perfect but not bad at all for a first attempt at a custom stock when you have to carve everything by hand. He had a hard time with checkering but. Here is a closer picture.
