Treestand Certifications
« on: Aug 21, 2007, 07:41:47 AM »
I thought you folks might find this useful. Attached is a link to the TMA Treestand Manufacturers Association that has developed standards for the production and certification of treestands. There is also a recall list of treestands. You can use this to see if 1) your stand has been manufactured to an acceptable standard of materials, components, and processes 2) to check if there has been a recall of a treestand you may be using.

For those of you looking for some inexpensive treestands, I have attached some links for you. Personally, I use gorilla treestands and have purchased some BigDog treestands for use this season. They seem pretty descent.

Don't forget to inspect your safety harness and lanyard before you go out into the field to climb your stand.
