I smell it in the air!
« on: Aug 02, 2007, 09:20:29 AM »
August all ready! Towards the middle of this month it will be time to start putting out some trail camera's on the food sources and main trails so see some of those bucks with velvet. It is also a great time to purchase some boxes of bullets and go out target practicing at the local sand pit.   I can't wait for October and November.  Hopefully this year we will have better luck with the weather and hopefully some cold air and snow to help with the tracking up north.  Anyone else excited and getting ready for the season.

What area do you do the expanded archery?  Southern or central Maine?  I'm located in the Augusta area so there are a few good spots out this way but I haven't done archery in a few years due to time restrictions.  I've just been to busy being away at college and all.

Have you had any luck in the years past?

I hunt the expanded zone that includes north auburn, which is about 1 mile from my home. Very conveniant and although I did not take one last year I will be hunting in the same area. Seen lots of deer, almost everytime out.

I'm getting ready for the archery season...I will be going out in the woods soon to pick my tree to hang a stand in...
Just took my bow off the wall to clean the dust off and then shot a few arrows and was doing well till I got lazy and shot high..

Same here. Always way too many things to do to get ready for winter. It was 48° this morning.........it's coming.  8)  My wife and daughter's were complaining because it was cold out.  ::)  I think they have had plenty of warm days this summer, I'm ready for the cool temps. Good luck to all of you bow hunters, I'll be keeping my sights on rifle season.
