Tagged out this morning on opening morning by 8:30 AM. Not the biggest bird, but still a nice bird, kinda sad to end it on opening morning that quick, but it will give me the chance to concentrate on a few beginners I will be taking out the rest of the season!!! Was an awesome hunt on an awesome mornin!! Had 6 toms and 3-4 jakes gobblin like crazy from the roost, flew down, and worked south, i knew where they were going, and where they would go after that. Got up, got inbetween where they were and where I knew they wanted to go next, started calling to the tom and jake with 3 hens in the field, he was interested but not leaving his hens........ Got really aggressive with him, ended up calling him and the jake away from the hens, and 20 minutes later he was well within range, got em to stick up the ol head, and let em have it!
What I am reading is 10 15/16ths on the beard
3/4 on one spur
7/8 inch on another spur, and 23 pounds. Which gives this bird a final score of
61.125 If anyone see any different than I do please let me know... The gun is in the 1st pic laying on the ground by the way jsut so everyone can see that I wasnt an idiot and didnt forget to have the weapon in the pic this year!!!
