took grandson for bowhunters safety coarse
« on: Oct 04, 2010, 06:12:17 AM »
I took my grandson for his bowhunters safety coarse on Saturday and I retook test and got my certificate too. I originally took mine in 1975 first year that it was required but you can't get
a duplicate prior to 1980 so i figured I sat thru the coarse and took the test why not ask for a card. it was a good time the one instructor was a master instructor who has been doing it
for over twenty five years it was a great time. now i have a hunting partner he will be about the forth hunter i have started up.

Time well invested Larz. Hope your grandson gets some close encounters this year. Are there doe tags he can fill?

That's great that you sat with him and took the retook course with him...  I will do the same thing with my son as soon as I can find a course close by...

Congrats to your grandson and yourself!! He'll enjoy being out with you no matter what he sees or doesn't.
I took mine in '78 and retook it in '90 when I signed up to be an instructor. Figured it couldn't hurt, and yes the records the state
has kept until around 1990 were pretty bad. Instructors kept for 10 years and then they would throw them out.
My original instructor had passed away, and the state didn't even know..... :o   Guess they thought he just wasn't giving classes anymore....
