I like to use the slow cooker.

About 3 pounds boneless venison roast
1/2 package of bacon

1 large onion, sliced

2 or 3 garlic cloves crushed

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tablespoon garlic salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons of butter

1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 can of cream of mushroom soup

Directions
1.Put meat in slow cooker and cover with onion garlic, Sprinkle with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, pepper and any other spices you think will be good and layer on the bacon.
2.In a small bowl combine the soup mix and the soup mix together and pour mixture over venison dice the butter and place small cubes all over the top.
Cook on Low setting for 6 hours.

I do mine pretty similar, but don't use the butter or soups. I leave mine in for closer to 10 hours too. Not much better on a cold winter day than a house that smells like a good roast.
