Outing swap for Coon Hunt
« on: Dec 01, 2011, 06:29:45 PM »
I've always wanted to go coon hunting with dogs but never have.   Would be willing to swap a fishing trip or hunt if someone would allow me to tag along...

Sounds like a trip in the making  maybe a deer / coon combo    If and when the day comes when my dog moves on  A hunting coon hound or beagle may be next...

Hey Issiah, just found your post here.  Our season is getting close to the end. We could set something up for next season if you want. The season starts Oct 1st. Bog was spot on when he said you would want a hound once you go. It is addicting.

Southern Maine Isiah. I would be willing to bet if you stopped in Mass bogman would join us.... You guys could stay here. Maybe we could coon hunt at night and bird hunt during the day. My schedule is pretty much 6 days a week with just Sundays off. I can take a few days vacation then. It would be awesome.

Bow season will be open.  Hey that was a heck a bear you got... You are haveing a great season..Do you eat any of the stuff you trap? Im going out with my buddy on his trap line Monday(vacation day) looking forward to a beaver or two and Im hoping he will share the back straps out of them. That is my favorite wild game meat by far....

Never tried it myself tundra, but I had a deal with a guy I trapped for any beavers I got from his property I had to bring the carcass back because he loved it. Said its the best meat he's had.

I would highly recommend you guys try it. He has sausage made with it as well as the back straps. All I can compare it to is the texture of a very young deer. Its very tender and just plain old good..
