First batch of racoons

I started on the 7th of November and took these to my fur buyer on Monday the 14th, ended up with 40 for the first week.

Minnowguy,    How much are they paying for coon pelts now ? you don't have to skin and stretch them ?   TC

Thanks guys, ya the farmers are happy there gone, they also let me hunt on their land so it works out good for everyone.

I dont know how much I will get until the guy I sell to puts them up. Its a deal we worked out so we both dont take a hit if there should be a bad pelt. Yes I dont usually skin them, I take a small hit doing it that way but I'm not very good at fleshing coons not do I have the time to put up that many at a time.

Back in the mid 70s  WOW im tellin my age  :)  I took all my pelts to a guy in troy NY by the name of Ed Feathers, they had to be fleshed and stretched, but all my rats and mink I just rolled them up put them in a bag and stuck them in the freezer then took them all in at once. Back then a good rat would bring about 7 - 8 bucks and a big coon 20 - 25  You could make a pretty good $ doing it. I got a safe full of guns that trapping paid for. Good luck this season.     TC

I ended up with 91 and a check for 645.00
