I just tried a different mouth call that I like, it's a Primos Keith Burgess call that was on sale so I grabbed a couple. It's a 4 reed bat-wing style and what I like most is it's a little higher pitched than the other one I use most of the time. Thinking it sounds more like a young hen and will be trying to mix it up a little more this year.
For storage I always keep mine in the fridge so the latex doesn't dry out. But first I was them with cold water, separate the reeds with the plastic doodads they give you or toothpicks, and let them dry completely. Had some last a couple yeras but the best(most used) ones get worn out eventually. And sometimes you get a dud , I've had a couple calls that I just couldn't get to sound good.
