Upland Birds

Any birders out there?
Went out Saturday with the dog, a pointer (of course), and the 4 of us limited out.
She's 11 years old and I've got to limit her enthusiasm.
Went out this morning for 3 hours, she's starting to show her age.
She's stiff and couldn't jump on the couch tonight.
But boy is she relentless, you could see she was hurting, but she just wanted to find pheasant.

Has anybody else have success?

The pheasants here are stocked, a few hold over the winter, but not many.
We don't have the open lands like the west, but the state and local clubs put out birds.
The state manages wildlife areas and there is good cover and some areas are planted with corn.
