A little mid-season tinkering.
« on: Oct 06, 2010, 02:27:33 PM »
As I mentioned in another post I was going to buy Rages. Went up to the local hardware store and picked up a pack of the SlipCam two blades 100 grain. Mercy if the blades deploy its not going to be good for the deer. So I better see the following after the well placed shot.
1. Better blood trails
2. Dead deer at the end of the blood trail.
3. Huge entry hole once I inspect the deer.

I also decided to scrap the Gold Tip Prohunters and go back to my Beman ICS Hunters. The Bemans are heavier and should hit harder to drive that Rage open. Put the orange zebra vanes on them cause I'm going to get them tiger style. ;D ;D Now I just need to sight the bow in again.

Nice, hope you have the same luck as a lot of people seem to be having with them.

I like the concept its definitely better than the Swacker. Being able to buy the replacement blades after them being used is also a plus. We shall see what happens when I whack one.

Ive made this clear before that im not a fan of rage at all. Hit a deer last yr got the arrow and there was no blades left in the head  ???. I hope you get some good luck with them and let us know how ya feel when ya draw some blood. P.S got my new PhatHead SOB's in the mail and boy are they sharp right out of the pack the tip of the bleeder blade stuck into my finger  :o

Was the screw that holds the blades still in the point?

I wonder if it came from the factory like that or just came loose while in the field? I read some reviews last night and it looks like if you shoot a big deer in the shoulder your SOL. I will make sure I put it right thru the lungs. As long as I get a two inch hole it will be over quick. I will be checking the screws now and everytime before use.

I could see that screw getting sheered off on impact, did you notice if the threads were still in the one side. That would have me concerned.
