ground blinds
« on: Sep 29, 2010, 04:40:50 PM »
what are the rules for using ground blinds and hunter orange? I mean does the blind itself have to have orange on the outside, or is wearing orange in the blind good enough to cover the mandatory orange requirements.

Wearing the orange in the blind is all you need. Although having some on the outside wouldn't be a bad idea if you are where other hunters are around.

Yeah, but if you're wearing orange it will make it easier for the wardens to find you...... ::)

Do you have to keep the orange on after getting to your blind?
I know some states it is only needed while traveling through the woods.

That doesn't seem real clear to me. It states "while hunting" so I would say you need to keep it on in the blind.

During gun season here their has to be a certain amount of orange displayed on the outside of the blind when it is in use.

I agree having some orange on the outside of the blind is a good idea, especially during the shotgun and muzzleloader season if you use a blind then. but that wont be an issue untill november.

We have a lot of bowhunting in front of us before then. Did you move yet?
