That's some good grouping there Upstate. I started mixing up my practice ranges the past few years, because before that I always shot at 40 for months before the season, and was dead on. First deer that walked by me was 15yds, I put my 40yd pin on him and swore I drilled him until I found the arrow the next morning and knew exactly what I did. A week later I did it again on a big doe. Now I mix it up to keep me thinking about what pin I'm using, I still get excited when I'm going to draw on any deer size really makes no difference.

That is why I don't use a multiple pin sight....
One pin, adjustable....
Even if I forget to move it, I'm good to 30 with it set at 20. Out at 40, I'm only 4" low so if the deer ducks....

I always aim on the low side, and it hasn't failed me yet (when I get the distance right
). Of course I tend to shoot them at 5-10yds or less.

I would do away with all the other pins then, and just use a 20 yard pin....

I can't, need that 40 for coyotes
. Ever since I started mixing up distances, positions, angles and using silhouettes instead of dots I got a lot better at getting on target. Things I would suggest any hunter to do to practice for hunting, just the confidence building itself is well worth it.

I have one pin out to 30...about an inch high real close but has been the way I practice for years and makes it simple during THE MOMENT!!!

To be honest that Alpine shoots as well as any bow I've owned...or paid a lot more money for....
It is a lot of practice Steve....Going to climb on the porch roof this weekend to shoot a few....
Your right Hunt, the newer faster bows will be a little higher at say ten yards. But you would still be in the vitals...

I'm lucky I have outdoor stairs to the second floor so I can shoot elevated easily. Any bow that shoots good for you is worth a lot more than any name. I'd say that Alpine is pretty consistent
. I'm going out now.
