Mike(her husband), came to me at the end of the reception and asked if he could call me Dad. Was a special moment in my life, that a son of another good man would ask that of me. Yes I did gain a son. Pretty proud of him as well, he has worked hard and supported them as well as obtained his masters in history. Hope in the near future he finds a good teaching career. He will be a good one, he does very well with their son(our grandson).

Sometimes being a parent is a PITA.  I just went full-out Gunnery Sergeant Hartman on a five year old.  He just went to bed an hour early for not even taking a bite of his PBJ.  Yes, it was end crusts instead of the middle slices, but that's all we've got in the house.  I'm so tired of this picky eating crap.

Kids need the choices I had, eat what you get or stay at the table until you eat what you got when it used to be warm. Good job Chucker, I'm sure it isn't easy but your doing it right.

What a town down the road woke to this morning....

 
Taken by the Assistant chief rolling into the scene...I'm sure there was a very deep breath, and maybe an expletive or two....then on the radio to start the alarms for help.  8 departments, and the home town just got back in service at 7 tonight.
They lost two buildings and a number of adjacent structures lost windows and siding....
