I get a kick out of that debate every year Bog. I never hear any numbers as to the brain worm from Moose though.
Funny, the deer numbers in Maine seem to be somewhat in line with the Moose numbers....
 
I've had some success over the years DRob, more so calling for others than myself. But through that I became a better hunter for myself.
Would think with all the agriculture around you the turkey would be doing well...is your weather wet a lot during the incubation period? That will keep the numbers down, slowing regrowth..

Sure is disheartening to look out and see white isn't it?? Stuck to the grass here, but drive and roads just look wet.
I have just 32 degrees....Supposed to warm up next couple days.
 
At least we don't get the storms the southern part of the country does....one good thing about the mountains..

Sure do find it amusing to see The Sportsmans Guide advertised on the top of the front page.....
 I contacted them the first year we had the turkey contest to see if they wanted to donate a prize....
They kindly declined, stating they do only so much a year, understandable...but then they appeared doing advertising...guess they took a look at the site when I emailed them...

Not a very good opening morning, didnt hear one gobble in 4 hrs of hunting. Saw plenty of deer and had a coon that I thought was going to attack me at daybreak. He made a wise decision and went the other way. Tomorrow is another day I guess.

Different site. Advertising is a tough one for a small business, not cheap and you don't really know how well it works; guess that's why I prefer word of mouth, takes time to build that, though.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the ads here are placed through Google so Sportsman's Guide may not have seen this site.
