If Mossburgs are the only guns you have trouble with, could be the fit. If your not getting in line with the barrel, you won't get a good sight picture. Some guns fit better than others.
The other thing I'm thinking is the barrel connection. If that model allows for other barrels to be put on, that barrel may not be turned right on the chamber.

If you got it new I'd call Mossburg and explain what's going on. Maybe they'll send you a replacement?

It was new but I think I will just get rid of it. I took the scope of a little while ago and will try the open sights again before I give it the boot.

Could be its not a very big gun. Its not a model that allows for other barrels to be put on.

If you really want to get rid of it, let me know. I'd be willing to take a crack at getting it straight. I don't have a gun to trade, heather uses the 12ga CZ auto. I would let you use my 10ga turkey gun for the season though, she won't use that one  . It kicks a little but you can reach out there with it, way out there  .

I'll keep that in mind stka. Replacing the fiber optic sights are another option that may work.

dont forget, not all shotguns shoot straight and true, thats why its very important to pattern them, but 2 feet is alot! A little too much if ya ask me. I had an old Mossberg MK5500 and upgraded to an 11-87 and havent looked back...if ya opt for an 11-87 be sure to change the rem choke though...they are horrible. I went with an undertaker. good luck!

lol! When i was a kid, my neighbor who was maybe 7 was sitting on the throne. He decided to lean forward and put his finger in the reset button of the bathroom scale that was mounted to the wall. Of course the bathroom was locked and his grandmother was babysitting him. Long story short, she called 911, firetrucks and cops came, broke into the bathroom, his grandmother had to wipe his rear, then they got him out. Haha still laugh about that today.
