Sure looks like a white perch to me STKA. What permit do you need to fish? I know LG. has a permit for a boat, but never heard of needing one to ice fish anywhere.
Tyler and I hit Champlain today with friends. I got two small pike early, Matty got one around the same time. Tyler had a flag and lost what looked like a good fish. We had a bunch of hit and drops. Jigged like crazy all day and nothing to show for it.
Then Tyler got the fish of the day, 25" and around 6-7lb Ling.



Was a beautiful day on the lake, started my spring ice tan... ;D
Champlain? I know there is big bass is there. ;D Nice job guys congrats. I couldnt catch any bass today on the soft water. :(

We fished the Tomhannock Reservoir, went back this afternoon, only got two big yellows and a big white (plus some dinks). There were two guys on the spot we fished yesterday, an hour or so before dark one of them yells "Hey Steve", "Aren't you even going to stop by and say hi". It was my friend Ron and another guy. Could have been on the better spot if I just walked out in the first place and saw who it was  ::). Gave them my perch at the end of the day, wasn't worth cleaning three to me and they had a pile going. I did hook a big sucker on a hali, but lost him in the whole, what a fight on the light rod.

Chucker the dinner looks great.

Upstate, sounds like it was a good day over all, weather was great down here. Glad you got out, that ling is supposed to be tasty.

Pouring here too!   Great pictures Upstate, looks like u guys did pretty good.  I've been hoping to catch a Bowfin again.  I got one a few years ago but never got a picture of it; hoping to get another so I can have a photo for the scrap book.
