I fish the lake a lot, that's the first one I've seen up close. Saw a couple a few years ago a guy jigged up, but he wasn't very close and they were probably 8" or bigger, looked more like a white fish than this little one. Tried jigging a tiny tube when I marked they today, now I know why it didn't work I was expecting something a tad bigger. I'm used to seeing the small 3" smelt, thought this was a big hen full of eggs.

OK what the heck happened here. I go look for vehicles and you guys go ....somewhere. I never even looked at the head on the thing. Now that I went back and looked, it doesn't look like a smelt. Colors are very close though.
Are they legal bait in LG, JJ? I know they use ciscos, but to be honest wouldn't know one of those if I saw it either.
