We ended 2010 with the fewest calls in 15 years.
Ice fishing has gotten so dang expensive!! We are paying 10.00 for a dozen large shiners...   And 3.35 a gallon for gas...
Hard for me to justify any money for it....   I catch to little, unlike the crappy slayers...Raquette and Cheeks and HuntNY...
Figure about a pound of fillets from a 5lb fish and 30 bucks for gas and bait. I could eat prime rib....

y dont you save your money on shiners and use perch? small jig n spikes usually dont take very long to jig up small bait. bluegills r my pike bait of choice but perch are usually easier to collect in a hurry.

$10 a dozen is crazy, just paid $4 and change while up at camp. The run#s are down because of Prevention Your doing what your supposed to do there.

I just got back from the RMV,had to transferr Hunter's plate's to a new/used pickup for him $300 sale's tax on a $1500 truck seemed a little outrageous to me. Girl said it was valued @ $4800. I asked her if she would like to buy it for $4000. LOL

We do use perch if we can find them. We jigged all morning and never caught one. No bluegills there though, heard they worked well.
That's what the chief stated last night at our annual meeting. Re elected him chief. We steadily go down in calls, so prevention info is working. Doing a first inspection with him next week. For all residents that request them and all businesses.
NYS does the same with the tax. They have to pay all those retirement plans for the DOT workers somehow...

It's a 1996 f150 with 80k on it. Run's awesome but the salt is showing it's effect's a little. No way it's worth $4800.

Can't imagine any 15 year old vechicle being worth that in the northeast.

I know I have hit a lull, its been a little over two weeks since my last kill. Its bow season now, I went out yesterday but the hunting isnt easy this time of year. The deer herd up and it turns into more of a waiting game on when they will come thru. Not to mention the fact that Tiny may have shed his antlers does not help my motivation.

I would imagine snow is a must for tracking the bunnies.

CP was on the other night and has gone into lurk mode. Probably ashamed he didnt kill one deer after all the crap he talked.

Good lord that's a lot of money for shiners. You just need Raquette's Green hornet and your catch rate will go up.

You could probably get some shrimp to go with the prime rib at that price. Gas is $3.05 a gallon down here.

That's OK, our new governor just took a 5% cut in pay from his 179000 salary. Our deficit will be gone in no time and then they can lower all the taxes on gas....
