I had three things cheer me up over the last few days -
Five does running through the elementary school grounds before crossing in front of me on the way to work Thursday.
Watching 100 mallards dropping into the creek before I left for work on Friday.
Two red-tailed hawks in a tree along the expressway at lunchtime later the same day.  The one bird was hanging directly under the other one, upside down, from the same branch!

Good thing too, because I bet the damned rain has killed a lot of the local ice.  I have Monday off, and really wanted to fish.   ::)

Not a bad day. Got real cold this afternoon, with a stiff north wind.
First of the day, season, year....LOL

 
Friends first of the year, wasn't a big one but had fins and flopped!!

 
Tyler had fun with the guys. He and another guy never had a flag, but we had dogs on the ice and good company!!!

 
Biggest of the day at 27 1/2" and just under 5lbs.

Tyler and buddy unhooked it for me.....I was tired from the fight.. ;D

Greenbay rained on any hopes of that upstatehunter. Yeah the Pats are still in it. I'm going to root for the Ravens now.
