The company i workk for is the same way. Ride you untill you quit but dont fire you. Im safe for now but i see others go threw it a lot and feel pretty bad for them.

He wants to do construction, he went to school for heavy equipment. He isn't 21 to get a CDL yet. I wish I never gave mine up at my last renewal... ::)
Was thinking of getting it back, but the costs are more than I have right now.
 
Sadest part is his two best friends went to Barrons institute in Mass. I begged him to go with them.
They both are working around here neither in the construction business, one is doing floor covering for his fathers store and the other is working odd jobs cutting fire wood and cutting on headers for guys. It's tough out there on the young guys to break in and get started, unless they have family or something to get the door open.

I tell my 3 that are working all the time. You don't know how lucky you are to have steady work right now. Put your money in the bank, Pay cash for what you have to have. The work might not be there next week,month or year. My friend that I drive the Trash truck for called me yesterday, Are you still hunting? When are you coming back to work? LOL I told him I would see him in 2011. That CDL has come in awful handy for me for extra cash a few time's. I think I was 18 when I got mine to drive the wrecker at the chevrolet dealership I was working at.

New status update- Ford dealer called, new,shiny, RED F350 is in the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Not sure how that worked out so quick but I don't care. Signing paper's tommorrow and driving it on Monday.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
