What scares me more is seeing all the black crap rolling down chimneys....um..let the thing go out people....and by Wed. they will open it up and let it roar....and many will.... :o :o :o :o

I have lots of black crap rolling down my basement wall and my smoke pipe...   Sometimes just pores out into a bucket....  What does that mean?

Just keep it cleaned well Dom....Usually means your building up creosote.... ;)

  Every 3 weeks...  Just did it today.... ;D ;D   That stuff skeerrrs me... :o  I get more build up in the smoke pipe between the stove and the chimney than I do up the chimney...  I just don't burn it hot enough..

The chimney holds heat better than the Pipe. Mine does the same.

I went out for the paper at 0800 in a t-shirt and fleece pants - was warm enough already that I almost felt overdressed.   ???  Was windy all day with bright sun off and on and clouds that looked like rain, but never a drop.  May not even dip down to 40° again tonight.
