So put up the hub shanty again...another broken pole....LOL...guess that was why they were cheap....off to do some more fixin.....and to see what is going wrong with the set up or take down that is snapping the little ears off the poles that hold them into the hub....operator error I'm sure...

Nope...cast aluminum....they used it to form the terminal end of the pole to the hub... It has to swivel so they have it on a track with two ears that slide in their own tracks....took one that was snapped off out and the casting is very soft and crumbly....so I used some steel...a tent stake is just the right diameter...and drilled the pole itself out...drove the piece of tent stake through and epoxied....we shall see...it made two set ups and take downs...couldn't feel the fingers by then... ..

             Nope, just living where he does, you have to be able to think & come up w/some sort of cobb job or be able tom fix what you have.

Just call me McGyver...LOL....Comes from growing up with a father who bought little....he couldn't...he was a miner and worked to put food on the table and a roof overhead...but he could make it if he could get his hands on something for materials....I remember his little red express step side he bought...first brand new pick up...he built a cap for the back of it...was better than most you can buy today...gambrel roof with sliding plexiglass windows that opened into his tool boxes...mounted to the bed rail....had weather seal on the leading end of the window where it went into a frame....covered the roof with aluminum sheets he found at the dump....later he found a stainless table that a restaurant threw out, and remade the back door out of that....So I learned to be handy and resourceful....but kind of a pack rat...some people say I'll use that someday.....I do...
Like my tip ups....they were an old set of high flags that were falling apart....found an all oak pallet..ripped some wood down and presto....new tip ups...
