Thanks for the "good luck" guys. Stopped in Erie, PA last night; hit Cabela's in WV around noon for a couple hours, picked up some odds and ends to stay warm: gloves, hats, balaclava and some thermals. Good thing, just saw the 7 day forecast: highs in the 40s(one day has a high of 50), 30s at night; don't remember a coool forecast like that in the past 5 years I've been here. Should make for good movement.

Was getting late so I didn't hunt this afternoon, just drove around scouting for deer and other hunters. A few trucks here and there, was raining lightly; deer were on the move, saw 8, all were near the road, nothing out in the fields. Last deer was large with a dark body, knew it was a buck and a good one, probably 140s; he was in no hurry to run away either and only about 1/2 mile down the road from where I got my buck last year. Tried to get pics but they came out blurry.

Ole Finnegan and I spent a good part of last night in the Emergency Vet clinic after he got hit by a car about 6pm yesterday -  He's sore and pretty unstable on his feet, but no broken bones.  The Vet thinks he'll make a full recovery within a couple weeks.

I feel bad - The car that hit him was filled with trick-or-treaters... They weren't happy with their father's driving.  I didn't get the guys name which was an error - It certainly wasn't his fault and I'd like to let him know that Finny should be fine.



Final Vet bill:  $145.00 - Very reasonable IMO.
