Sandy surfSpotted in choppy waters trying to get back ashoreUpdated: Monday, 29 Oct 2012, 8:37 AM EDTPublished : Monday, 29 Oct 2012, 8:35 AM EDT MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J. (NBC) - Cameras were at Monmouth Beach, N.J., Sunday afternoon when a deer was spotted trying to navigate the breaking surf. A barrier of rocks prevented the deer from being able to get back on the beach, and the animal ran helplessly in the waters. A resident who was on the beach tried to chase what appeared to be a young buck parallel to the shoreline to get it to a point where the rocks ended and the sand began. Eventually, animal control and humane society responded and tranquilized the deer, which was found with a broken leg. Officials are confident the deer will be nursed back to health.
Good day for still hunting too.
