Now I try to draw from that, and see the things that are really important.....doing what you like to do, with the people you like to do it with....the love a family brings to your heart.....So a salute to Dad tomorrow, may the game be plentiful and your table surrounded by all your friends...

Funny how things trigger a response from your memory....Watching an old Waltons show....Brought back many memories of my Dad....He has been gone 17 years tomorrow....Tyler was but a 4 year old boy.....Remember him sitting on the floor of the living room some months after Dad passed....he just sat there looking at the old rocker lazy boy that dad always sat in when they came to our house for a visit.....I asked what he was looking at.....Grampa...don't you see him? No...son I don't....what is he saying? He says he is proud of you....and the tears flow....now like then....A missing of a piece of ones soul....Yet a smile will over take tears....wondering just how he got so strong....As like me he never made much money, was always in debt....but laughed like there were no cares in the world....never once let me know we had no money for this or that...just found some way to make what we needed to be there....and many things we wanted as well....Found joy in fellowship, of others who loved the outdoors....His brothers and sisters who fought to keep our shores free...Now I try to draw from that, and see the things that are really important.....doing what you like to do, with the people you like to do it with....the love a family brings to your heart.....sappy for a hunting site, yes I know....So a salute to Dad tomorrow, may the game be plentiful and your table surrounded by all your friends...
