Shot the Z7 for the first time since last fall. The 3" Fusions are nice, much stiffer than any other vane I've used so far. Grouping wasn't great, 3-4" at 20yds but I wasn't really going for perfection just wanted to dust the cobwebs off. Few more days at 20yds and I have to move back to 30 and 40 to adjust my sights. I'm sure they are flying much faster with the shorter less offset vanes.

OK, so the wind was unrelenting. We fished from 4pm to dark and did manage to catch a couple, but they were getting a lot of free meals. With the wind and waves detecting strikes was real tough. I got two dozen small shiners and two dozen fatheads and we would have easily run out if we rebaited as often as we should have. They wouldn't touch a dead bait but would hit a live one in seconds but we never got a good feel for getting the hook set. 48 bait got us seven fish, I lost a big one and we tossed back one that was probably 9". Never caught any other species, that seemed odd. This was actually the best I've ever done crappie fishing, we'll be back. The few I kept were good sized. Of course my friend who was feeding me info got two limits from 7:30 to 3:00.
