My uncle's a plumber, all he uses for new work now is the PEX pipe unless someone insists on copper. We use a very similar type of tubing and quick connects for compressed air, nitrogen and vacuum lines at work.

Pex is the way to go IMO. After I froze the pvc at camp and broke most of it I switched to Pex and tied it into the existing pvc with shark bite's.

Sharkbite.  Little girl was napping, bigger boy was on youtube.  They didn't even notice I was downstairs for a few minutes.

Just weird how there was a pinhole on the top of the pipe when it's not next to anything.

Just the beginning of the pin hole's. More are coming. I have changed both pipes that run from the basement to the bathroom showers on both floors. Popped holes within 2 months of each outher. Don't know if it was a bad run of copper or the water hardness. PEX in there now.

House is 70 years old, no idea how old the piping is.  Other than a thin skim of rust, it was pretty clean on the inside even though water is moderately hard here.  I thunk about it some more, and the kitchen faucet running crappy is probably the aerator or something else between the mixing valve and faucet, since there is plenty of pressure on the spray gun, and everything else in the house is fine.  Better pressure upstairs than in the kitchen right now.

With all the  green on it I would say you have a sulfur problem...  That will eat copper up real fast..
