Has anyone ever had to repair a radisson/sportspal. I have about a 10" gash in mine and was hoping to fix it to use this weekend. I could do silicone and rivits, but didn't know if there was anything better out there.

Never had a hole that big, but for a long gash I would think sealant and rivets would hold up longest; you need to add some rigidity back but the seal needs to be flexible. The seams are riveted at the factory. They seal the outside of the hull around the rivets with a harder, flexible material, something like 3M 5200 Marine Sealant; this might be a better choice then silicone, will hold up better, easy to find. I use this for below water line on my boat, water intakes, transducers, etc.

I used a few different patch materials on my old Radisson: 1) JB Weld type epoxy, not flexible, worked good on the ends of the keel though. 2) Duct Putty (sold in electrical stores), this is very close to if not the same putty they use to seal up the inside; very sticky and never hardens, I carry some for emergency repairs. 3) 3M Aluminum repair, works good, needs more prep work and the aluminum must be heated up; this stuff may work if it a a thin split. Well I got the bass fired up and let my buddy catch it. I was just fishing in a spot and decided to make a little move. So he moved to where I was and caught this one.lol I was glad he caught it since it was his B-day. I would say we are still a few weeks away from the spawn but if temps stay warm it could be sooner. This bass still didnt have much color to it from the cold water. Sure was a chucky little bass.

hehe Budweiser? I drank some of those a couple weeks ago at the fellowship after the memorial service. That dang stuff makes me angry and gives me a headache the next day. I cant lie I bought some Busch(Ramrods Beer of choice) the other night. Chuckled and said I guess its okay since it the official beer of Bass.

I am down with Busch! Drink that quite a bit ice fishing because alot of the good lakes are near our colleges and you can get 12 packs for 6 bucks! So long as it has the c in the name and we are talking beverages!
