Another enjoyable weekend at camp.   10 maple trees tapped - 13 buckets and 29 spiles.  Unfortunately the 4-wheeler died, so I was doing a lot of walking.

Hey Brace,   Will the warmer than usual Winter effect the amount of syrup a guy can get out of the trees?

The whole area around our access is barren rock bottom. Heather got skunked and I got four fish including a personal best. It plained stunk but it's a lot easier to get the snowmobile on than I thought so we'll be back with transportation to cover more ground. We had 15-16" of ice.

This is unchartered waters for me Issiah -  I've never tapped trees this early before.  Having said that, I don't expect the warm weather to negatively affect my backyard operation, but I only jar about 6 or 7 gallons a year.
