Yup, I'll be out "Still Posting". We never got to get my spot posted, so I told my friend I'd take the signs and stapler with me opening day. Figured I'd sit the morning until I get bored and then slowly make my way around the perimeter putting signs up and looking for scumbags.

4 years ago my buddy's dad went up to their new lease on the opener of NZ rifle. He was HAMMERING in posted signs, and turned around to see a 130" 9 pointer staring at him 50 yards away. Lifted the gun and dropped him. Southern Zone rifle is going to be a slaughter though.

Oh and Drobs... the "real" northern hunters have had rifle open for weeks now  ;D

What are you shooting out of the ol 870...just bought a cylinder choke for my bird barrell. Took a couple of times, but it's almost shooting better than my rifled barrell. Ended up liking Winchester Rackmasters.

Nice, be careful with those copper solids...they'll chew up the rifling in your barrell. Shot them for a couple of years and then tried some XP3's and fell in love. I like when I can shoot 200 yards and beyond.

I shoot the same thing Dacker, 3" copper solids. Don't love having the petals break off & make hamburger out of the front shoulders but they don't go far when you hit them & the blood trail is good enough for Helen Keller to follow.

Just got back from a call....had to set up a landing zone for lifeflight...they were picking up a hunter that fell from his tree stand....ladder stand collapsed...no safety belt.....Both legs are shattered.....over an hour and a half from the time he fell until he got in the bird.....He should be OK, but bet his life changes now!!
For all those who love you and those that care(he is a friend of mine) PLEASE wear you harness or belt....you just never know what is going to happen.
He may have hung there for a bit but would have gotten help and been fine with one....Think he leaves his stand up year round as well.....cold does a number on the welds....Just wishing all a safe season and all to go home safe!!

You never know what can happen to a stand. When I went to pull two ladders this fall, I found that the platform strap had been chewed completely off the second one.  I have a habit of grabbing the ladder and shaking it to test sturdiness, especially on stands I haven't used recently. On this one when I did it the whole thing almost came down, still two bow hooks in that pine. If you don't wear a harness for yourself, do it for your family.
